Revd. Amber Beresford (Benefice Vicar)

We have a terrific team who care enormously for every aspect of St Nicholas church and are pleased to support and assist its future growth and success in every way, under the loving and caring leadership of the Reverend Amber Beresford.

Martin Henderson (01962 732845) is St Nicholas’s Churchwarden. He is now retired after a career in the City of London involved in the financial services sector and has lived in the village for many years.

Mandy Caldwell joined the PCC as Secretary after a few years of organising concerts and events for St Nicholas, which she continues to do, along with playing the organ and supporting the Churchwarden when necessary.

A Bright Future

Here at St Nicholas, we are known for our 4 W’s.

Welcome

We welcome ALL. All are welcome and offered a place of sanctuary, rest and family.

Worship

Our range of services, from partaking in ancient liturgy like the Book of Common Prayer to more modern all age services like the Pet Service, enable all to seek and experience God. We love and prioritise music at St Nicholas and our evensong service is an outworking of our love for sung worship.

Wisdom

St Nicholas’ time-honoured building and our history as a worshipping community across the centuries enables us to welcome all who seek wisdom, from secondary school pupils to pilgrims, from the passer by to the preacher, we all journey to seek and share wisdom that we have discovered in our history, tradition and faith.

Walking together

The foundation of St Nicholas is sharing the love of God with one another, walking together with all in the community at the different stages of life. Whether going through a tough patch of grief or a celebration of life, wewalk together, supporting each other.
