A ground penetrating radar survey was commissioned by St Peter’s PCC to obtain evidence for the sub surface morphology of St. Peter’s church and, in particular, any graves that were built over in Victorian times.
19 anomalies were found, of which 15 are believed to be graves. Of the remaining four one is either a structural feature or a tomb; two are modern: one is a soak away, the other is water covering the vestry floor; and the fourth is the geology estimated at 1.2m below the interior floor surface.
